The Rotisserie @ Telok Ayer Street

My friend has been raving about eating salad at this place called The Rotisserie and I finally got a taste of it today!

It is located inside Central Business District (CBD) and with such affordable pricing and healthy offering, I bet the crowd during lunch must be madness. Thank goodness I am here for dinner and as I am early, there were still seats for us to choose from, both inside and outside.

You have to place your orders at the counter. It should not take you every long to decide what to order with their very simple menu. Chicken and Gourmet Salads are their specialty and PB recommended the Roasted Chicken and Pork Knuckle and that was exactly what we ordered!

This is the counter where you collect your food after ordering. I like the layout and decor of this place – Clean and Neat

The Salads are placed very prominently and they looked very attractive! The combination of the salad reminded me of my time in London where you get a wide variety and combination of ingredients from all over just like the people in London. Tabouli is one which I have not seen in ages! Each and every one looks so mouth watering that I was looking for a combo platter for salad so that I can taste everything. A pity do not have it 🙁

From Left Clockwise: Chicken, Chickpea and Tabouli Salad, Pesto and Risoni Salad,Potato Salad with Mustard Mayonnaise Salad, Coleslaw & Tomato,Basil and Rocket Salad

Almost every table that we walked past had mashed potatoes on their plate. It looks good and I am definitely not going to leave the place without trying it! Look at how generous they are with the gravy!

Close up of the Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, $3.50. The potatoes are so soft and mushy that they melted upon entering my mouth. This is one sinful, carbo laden side dish that can be a meal on its own. ;P

Our order of Quarter Roasted Chicken with Salad, $11.  The chef ordered the guy serving me to pour more gravy on the chicken hence it looked like it is drowning in it. LOL. My suggestion is to cut on the gravy if you want to taste the nicely roasted  chicken. 🙂

Our other order of half a Pork Knuckle $16 with an option of 2 sides.

Close up of the Chicken, Chickpea and Tabouli Salad  that I liked but did not go down as well with PB. I liked how you can chew this salad.  It has the texture of barley that is cooked till just when the shell has just opened – soft with just a little resistance.  I did not like the chicken in this salad as it has quite a strong chicken smell as it was cold. This Tabouli Salad is different from the one I have eaten. The one I had had diced tomatoes, bulgur and finely chopped mint and parsley dressed with olive oil, fresh lemon juice and a pinch of salt.

Close up of the Tomato,Basil and Rocket Salad drizzled with red wine vinegar and the skin of the pork knuckle. I like this salad combination. It looks so colourful and feels so healthy when you chomp on it.. hee..

Close up of the Pork Knuckle! I was wow-ed by it.. Really!

Some parts of the pork tasted like cured ham! LOL..It was a pity that the skin was not really crackling if not it would have been a gorgeous meal. I usually do not eat fatty pork but tried this one anyway. What is life without trying everything at least once right? ;P The fats looks firm but it kinda disappears in your mouth with just a few chew. We cut away most of the fats when eating as it is really unhealthy if we were to finish it all! Does no good to people who should be dieting! HAHAHA…

Our Dinner at The Rotisserie. This is a good recommendation and I will be back to try out other items. They do provide catering for corporate events and office parties too. Just call Hedda @97285511. The next time I am asked to suggest food for department fuction, I am definitely going to suggest getting it from Rotisseries. 🙂
