Brunch @ Loysel’s Toy @ Kampong Bugis
Been ages since I had English style breakfast! 😀
The weather is very good today after a nice shower. The air smells fresh and the weather is cooling. Look at those jewels of raindrops on the plant that greeted us when we arrived at the compound the cafe was in.
The cafe was really crowded today and hence, we settled on a seat at the back of the cafe after placing our order.
The variety of cakes that tempted me and it took me a while to decide on what to order. Wanted to order the Green Tea and Chestnut cake that I like so much on my last visit but ended up with the Blue Berry Cheesecake since I wanted to try something new and yet do not want to over order! 😛
The weekend breakfast menu that I finally lay my hands on! The food is served till 4.30pm on Saturday and Sundays.
The drinks menu
My number block and the iced water which I helped myself to after placing and paying for our order.
View of the lush greenery from where we were seated. It was so peaceful that we could even do some bird watching here. 🙂
Our Lattes ($4.50 each) came very quickly.
As usual, the latte art was so pretty.
I could not decided which one I wanted.. hahaha. Ended up taking the one above. 😛 Taste wise, still so smooth and nice. Like!
Next came the cake that I ordered.
Close up of the Blue Berry Cheesecake, $4.80. Looks too pretty to be eaten right? 😛
My Big L Breakfast, $16 came right after. There is toast, beef sausage, mushroom, baked beans, bacon and salad with my choice of scrambled eggs. The other option for eggs is poached which just did not appeal to me today.

Close up of the mushroom which I did not really like.

The toast that was buried. It tasted like a big muffin with a slightly hard crust. I guessed it was meant to be crispy but Singapore’s weather is just too humid to retain the crispiness for long.
PB’s Char-grilled Tuna Cesear, $10 with romaine lettuce, tuna and poached egg, topped with cheese and focaccia toast.
Closeup of the char-grilled tuna and poached eggs. I am not a big fan of tuna but this tasted quite nice.
While I was busy eating my Big Loysel Breakfast, someone has been busy attacking my blue berry cheesecake!! This was what was left for me! Sob sob..The cheesecake is not too sweet and is pretty light. That probably explains why PB could not stop eating!
Overall, the drinks and cakes outshine the mains. Having said that, I still want to try the pancakes and more cakes on my next visit!!
