Waraku Japanese Casual Dining @ The Central, Clarke Quay

Dining on a Monday has its hits and misses. Despite that, I enjoy the peace of dining on a Monday, avoiding the bustling crowds on weekends.

Met up with my bestie who has just came back from Japan and we decided to eat Japanese food! Strange how one can never get tired Japanese Food despite coming back from Japan! That is how good the food is!

One item that she said she must eat cos she did not eat it in Japan! LOL

This was the item that caught my eye!

We decided to order some Ebi Mango Maki  to share as well

Some sides that got me pretty tempted but since we have decided on quite a lot of food, have to control!

But dining with your bestie, you will never missed out on your favourite food, vice-versa! Hence I ended up ordering this Chawamushi that called out to me!

The Chawamushi, $4.80 that was served.

Vastly different from that in the pic. The container has a cracked and there was a layer of water on top.. hmm….

No mushroom nor eel nor pretty fishcake, only some chicken in it.. Felt kind of cheated to pay $4.80 for this. I can find better ones elsewhere!

We had to change our Ebi Mango Maki to this as we were told the mangoes were too sour to make the maki.

Another view of the maki.

Size of the bowl in comparison to a Iphone5.

When the Katsu Curry Udon , $15.80, was served, we got a big surprised as the bowl was so BIG!

The top view.

Luckily the contents only occupied 1/3 of the bowl.

Close up of the Pork Cutlet with Curry Udon.

Love the udon which was coated with Japanese Curry. The cutlet was fried to perfection as well! Thumbs Up!

Our Yakitori Mori 5 Kinds, $12.80 arrived next.

Another view of the grilled skewers.

The skewer options are fixed and you are not allowed to change them but this is one good platter to try a variety of the grilled items when you are in small groups.

Close up of the Tebasaki – Grilled chicken Wings and Buta Buta – Grilled Pork.

The grill pork was too fat and hard for our liking

Close up of the Uzura Bacon – Grilled Quail Eggs wrapped with Bacon and Asparagus Bacon – Grilled Asparagus wrapped with Bacon

Nice combination of the bacon with quail egg

This is one dish that arrived very late and we had to rush through it as first, we were told that the prawns were not fresh enough to make them and then, we were told that the chef was preparing them as they had gone to another outlet to pick the prawns and if we still wanted it . Hmm…

Overall, a nice place with a gorgeous view of the Singapore River to dine in. I like that they were honest in not serving a dish if the quality of the food is not to mark. Mondays are generally quiet so you may tend to rush through your meal if you are not used to exclusive dining service. 😛
