Trying out another tempura specialty restaurant that is sprouting up on our tiny red dot and it is Tensho that is opened by MOF at basement one of The Centrepoint.

Culinary Head Chef – Chef Sonado Kazunori
Simple Menu with only 2 options of tempura – Mixed Tendon, $14.90++ or Vege Tendon, $13.90++ served on Japanese Rice and with chawanmushi and miso soup.
For the opening special, you get a free Ocha with every tendon purchased.

Do note that they do not accept credit cards, only cash or NETS payment. As long as you have $20 in your wallet, it is more than sufficient for one pax at this place 🙂

Please remember to use the baby tongs provided to pick up the free pickles and not your own chopsticks!
We helped ourselves to some both before and after the meal and felt that it tasted way better after the meal as it helps to cleanse your palate.

First time I see such a mini size chawanmushi! 😛
Our Mixed Tendon with less rice meal which suited us perfectly.
You can customise your rice portion while ordering and I feel that the less rice option is perfect for me but the fluffy japanese rice and the homemade sauce may make you eat more rice than you initially thought you would. 😛

There is a layer of silky broth of top which I do not like but it did help to make the chawanmushi more smooth.

Miso soup
I like it that they have the fish cake in the soup which really reminds me of my trip to Japan.
The main – Topped with prawns, fish, onsen egg and vegetables tempura!
