Discovering a new stall at Tanjong Pagar Market today – Ipoh Hor Fun 怡保河粉!
It has been ages since I ate at the market as the afternoon weather has been sweltering hot. There has been quite a fair bit of stall changes especially the row facing Tanjong Pagar Mrt. Not exactly sure if this has anything to do with the government’s new ruling or was it due to poor business as there were a few startup stalls by the youngster in this row previously.

Menu at the stall
The main lure here is Hor Fun (aka rice noodles aka Kuay Teow) and I am surprised to see that they have the rice wine residue chicken mee sua – a dish that is rarely found in Singapore nowadays! If the weather was not that hot, I would have definitely ordered that!

After much pondering, I finally settled for Item 7 – Char Siew Wanton Hor Fun 叉烧云吞河粉, $3 which has more variety. There were sliced char siew, 4 pieces of deep fried wanton and one thick and nicely stewed mushroom on the plate.

Cross section of the deep fried wanton!
Be warned that it is piping hot as they are deep-fried upon order! Crispy and yummy! Nice! I should have ordered the $4 version as that came with 2 pieces of Fried Fish Dumplings which I saw a few customers carried past me! I had wanted to order too but it was too much for one person! Dragging my cols with me the next round so that I can try more stuff! 😛
