Macau – Lord Stow’s Portuguese Egg Tart 安德鲁葡挞

Another of my “MUST-EAT” item checked this trip to Hong Kong-Macau! 🙂

Spending a day in Macau and shopping in Venetian Macau makes you feel as if it is day all the time due to its artificial daylight ceiling! Spotted some tourists carrying Lord Stow’s Portuguese Egg Tarts bag and off we went on a hunt in this BIG MAZE to look for it! LOL

Finally found the Bakery and Cafe as we descend one of the bridge to a long queue waiting to go in.

Main Entrance of Lord Stow’s Bakery and Cafe.

This is the queue for people wanting to dine in the cafe.

Portuguese egg Tarts featured prominently at the entrance.

History of Lord Stow

For those who want to buy the egg tarts only (like me!), there is another queue right in front of the cafe along the canal that sells them so do not join this queue at the cafe foolishly as both are equally long!!!!

Counter that sells the freshly baked Portuguese Egg Tarts for MOP10 each. Worry not if you do not have MOP, Hong Kong Dollar is accepted but whatever change you get will be in MOP and they are worthless in HK so do pay wisely. 😛  (1MOP=1 HKD)

The guy who brought out the freshly baked Portuguese Egg Tarts from the bakery and boxes to hold them!

Lady taking orders and packing them into the boxes.

Freshly baked Portuguese Egg Tarts! Looking exactly like what I remembered them to be!

Each egg Tarts costs MOP10 / HKD10 (~SGD$1.72) and it does not make justice to buy 1 only after queuing for so long so half a dozen we ordered! 😛

Our Takeaway Lord Stow’s Portuguese Egg Tarts!

Established in Macau since 1989 and the creator of egg tarts that is now famous throughout Asia!

Cannot wait to taste one as it has been more than 10 years since I last ate it!

Each tart looks so devilishly good!

Enjoying the tart along the canal and enjoying the singing from the Gondolas. 🙂

Handmade in Macau 澳门手作 . Individual Work of Art in every box.

Cross section of the creamy center and the flaky, crispy crust. YUMZ! MUST eat while it is hot! Unforgettable taste!

Still very crispy, flaky and creamy at night. YUMS!
