Jones The Grocer @ Great World City

Checking out Jones The Grocer newly opened at Great World City.  Gourmet Food to Go!

It is located at Level 1, where The Pumproom used to be for people who frequents this area. If you do not know where it is, look out for Hush Puppies and it is on the same wing as Cedele, near the taxi stand.

Cakes and macaroons in the fridge.

Menu – Breakfast/Brunch is available till 12pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends and public holidays.

As usual, someone is late so there goes my brunch!

Menu – Soups, Salads and Sandwich

Menu – Build your own sharing Platter Boards.

Looks interesting as you get to choose your preferred ham, cheese and anti-pasti from list available. Have to reserve this for the next visit!

Menu – Sides, Mains and Desserts

Menu – Wine

Time to wine down… 😀

Menu – Hot and cold drinks

Display case containing the different hams (prosciutto di parma, rosette salami, chorizo iberico, Italian sweet soppressata, etc), soft/semi-hard/hard cheese and even blue cheese! This is one cheese that I am still unable to conquer to date. 😛

View of the interior from where we were seated.

Nice warm lights and great for photo (portraits) taking! 😛

House White – Pinot Grigio, $10++

Had initially wanted to get their prosecco but since they are running a 1 for 1 for their house pour, I decided to get their PG. 🙂

Our drinks.

PB’s Ice Latte, $9++

Quite surprised that he did not add tonnes of syrup into it and drank it original when I actually found it to be a bit bitter.

Our Soup of the Day – Pumpkin Soup, $14++

3 slices of complimentary garlic bread in a rustic pouch.

Love the taste and consistency of the pumpkin soup!

Great with the garlic bread too!

My Black Cod served with green lentils, leek, celery, kailan and cauliflower puree, $32++

Close up of my main.

The lentil was nice but I found it a tad too salty.

Juicy Cod. The skin could be a little more crispy.

PB’s Chargrilled Australian Ribeye Steak served with sauteed vegetables, mash and green peppercorn sauce, $35++.

Close up of his steak on top of the mash potatoes.

Love the sauteed mushrooms, courgette and peppers.

The steak was too well-done.

We had asked for medium but it was well done.

Despite it slightly tougher, it goes well with the peppercorn sauce by the side.

Our meal costs $100 and after adding 10% service charge and 7% GST, it came up to $115.90. Little on the high side and I do hope that they are able to survive as with this price point, many may just consider Cedele which is just opposite offering 3 course dinner at $32++ .
