Crystal Jade Kitchen 翡翠小厨 @ Great World City 世界城

Headed to Crystal Jade Kitchen on the same level as Golden Village Cinema at Great World City for dinner after catching Star Wars The Force Awakens. 🙂

Menu Cover

This Crystal Jade was renovated not too long ago and I am surprised at how modern it looks now and the menu looks good too! As you are ushered into the restaurant, you will be entice by the rows of roast meats nicely roasted and hang up, waiting to be ordered, cut and served. 🙂

Menu – This Dum Sum menu caught my eye but we only had 10min to order whatever was left.

Most of them are available till 5pm so do come early if you have a dim sum craving!

Menu – Roast meat.

PB is already eyeing the peking duck. 😛

Menu – Roast meat 烧

If you fancy any of the meats, you can DIY it with a noodles (soup/dry) or rice! For Roasted Honey BBQ Pork, Kampong Chicken or Soya Sauce Chicken, it cost $8.80++. For Roasted Pork Belly, Crystal Jade Signature Pork Belly or Roasted Duck, it cost $9,90++. If you like me who can never have enough variety on the plate, you can add on 1 more roast meat at $2++. 😛

This roasted meat combination is probably the best platter you can share with your friend and taste many meats all at once. You can choose either a 2 combination for $18.80++ or a 3 combination for $23.80++ from 6 meat choices namely – Crystal Jade Signature Pork Belly, Roasted Pork Belly, Roasted Honey BBQ Pork, Roasted Duck, Kampong Chicken and Soya Sauce Chicken.

Menu – Hong Kong Noodles

Menu – Hong Kong Congee

Menu – More Hong Kong Congee!

Menu – Rice and Noodles

Baked BBQ Pork Pastry (3 pieces for $4.80++)

I had wanted the Baked Crispy Honey BBQ Pork Buns from the dim sum menu but they were out of stock by the time someone came to take our order 🙁

Looks like another trip is inevitable. 😛

Close up of the barbeque meat in the pastry. Pretty delicious but it would have been better if it has been served warm.

Shrimp Wanton Noodle Soup 鲜虾水饺面汤 , $7.80++.

An additional $1 is chargeable for the dry 干 version.

Digging out the 3 big shrimp dumplings underneath the noodles.

Love the soup, the texture of the noodles and the fresh prawns dumplings. The noodles, despite me taking a long time to eat, retain the texture and bounce. 😉

Look at the fresh prawns in the dumpling. Thumbs up! The soups that came with the noodles tasted just right but those on its own with that came with the dry noodles were a tad salty to me.

PB’s customised Roasted Pork Belly Noodles (dry) 脆皮烧肉, $9.90++.

Great choice if you love roasted pork belly!

Another friend’s Braised Ee-fu Noodle with Mushroom, $13.80++.

Looks good too!

Our 3 combination platter of Crystal Jade Signature Pork Belly, Roasted Honey BBQ Pork, Soya Sauce Chicken, $23.80++ to share.

Close up of the meat.

The Crystal Jade Signature Pork Belly was soooooooooooo good! I am terrified of pork belly but this one, I can pop into my mouth one after another with no qualms! 😛 It is the star dish of Crystal Jade’s roast delicacies, very well marbled and soaked with the Chef’s special concocted barbeque sauce and finished with perfectly charred sides and a coat of honey glaze. Yumz!

The super tender and delicious soya sauce chicken ( I have taken away the skin) topped with the spring onions and ginger dips. You have to try it too!

PB added on Deep-fried Pumpkin Slice with Salted Egg Yolk 金沙南瓜片, $6.80++ after being enticed by the menu.

The pumpkin was sweet and soft but it kind of lack the crispiness and the oomph of the salted egg yolk and hence we were a little disappointed.

Overall, food was delicious but service was a tad lacking as the restaurant was running at almost full capacity. It was difficulty to get the attention of the staff although we were seated right next to the kitchen. The no-no for me was to be given cold tea in a Chinese restaurant. Warm/cold water are chargeable at $0.60++ as are the towels at $0.30++.

Takeaway Special at the entrance.

You can takeaway the roasted items too which is excellent! Definitely gonna takeaway some for my parents to try next time!
