Ever heard of Hokkaido White Curry? This is a first for me and if it is a first for you too, you will be glad to know that this is in Singapore and you do not need to fly to Hokkaido to get a taste of it! 🙂
Chance upon Tengawa Hokkaido White Curry at the entrance to Nihon Street at Millenia Walk. To know more about white curry, you may read the wiki here
Entrance to the restaurant.
Menu at the door.

Pano view of the interior with the counter seats.
The pickles, miso soup and rice are free-flow so do ask the staff for it if you need more.
Very solid cutlery.
Glass jar of free pickled cabbage for our consumption.
Close up of the cabbage.
A great dish to cleanse the palate and balance out the creamy curry. 🙂
Truffle Oil Chawanmushi
Full of truffle oil flavour in the chawanmushi and it is a must eat when you are here. How I wish this was free flow too! LOL..
Healthy Miso Soup
Other than the usual silky beancurd, there is the fish cake too which I love!
Our cold and hot green tea, $1+ each.
Food arrived very quickly.
My Set C and PB’s Set A.
Set A: Premium Ebi Fry White Curry Set, $16.80+
Close up of the Ebi and rice drowned in white curry.
Looks like the shrimps drinking the white curry right? 😛
Set C: Crunchy Chicken Katsu White Curry Set, $15.80+
Close up of the crispy chicken katsu.
Beautiful plating with a balance of colours.
The bowl was really huge!
The chopstick by the side should provide an indication of how big the bowl is.
Cross section of the tender chicken and the wedge of potato swimming in the white curry.
Every grain of rice is coated with the creamy white curry.
It is a tad different from the usual brown curry and to those who like more heat like me, you can always tweak it with some chilli spice powder provided. 😉
Had a prawn from PB’s set and look at its size! It is really huge!
Tore away the head and you can already see how meaty it is!
Took a bit and already love it.
Can I have a side order of just the prawns? It was meaty and sweet on its own. Dip it into the curry for additional flavour though I prefer it on its own.
My 2nd serving of miso soup. Love it!

Our total bill came to $38.06 for 2 sets after 10% service charge. Thought the portion may look small, they are really not small and my stomach got fuller as I left. 😛 If you really do not have enough, you can always request for more Japanese rice from the staff to go with your curry. Guarantee plus chop that you may be crawling out after that! hahaha..
