Restoran Swee Kee Hainan Chicken Rice瑞记海南鸡饭 @ Senai, Johor, Malaysia

Our late “Chicken Rice” lunch across the causeway!

Back to Swee Kee Hainan Chicken Rice near Senai Airport for their kampung chicken rice before heading over to JPO for our CNY shopping! 😛  The interior still looks the same as when we visited it years back.

The very old school interior.

Thankfully, we just avoided the lunch crowd when we reached at around 1.30pm.

Chicken left after the lunch crowd but fret not as they are constantly making fresh ones!

Spotted some roast pork and decided that we should try it too!

The spicier chilli (made with chilli padi) that Uncle gave us. It was really spicy but it was very shiok! This is not for peeps who cannot take such spicy stuff. You are better off sticking to the chilli on the table. 😛

Clear chicken soup that looks so normal but is quite flavorsome.

Here comes the star of the meal – Free Range/Kampung Chicken 菜园鸡.

The minimum order for the kampung chicken is half a chicken so if you come in smaller group, it may be a tad too much if you wanna try other dishes.

Love the tenderness of the meat but still do not like poach chicken skin 😛

Bean Sprouts with Salted Fish

Crunchy bean sprouts is the best side dish to accompany chicken rice in my opinion.

Fluffy chicken rice but lacking some fragrance and flavour today 🙁

Sweet and Sour Fish

Tender fish coated in the nicely balanced sweet and sour sauce. Kiddos will like this dish.

Roast port for 4 pax.

It was cut too thinly to feel the crackling but it makes the removal of the fats under the skin so much easier. I know people who love roast pork will eat it whole but I just had to remove a bit of the guilt factor 😛

Roast chicken for one pax as we still wanted to taste some roast chicken but was afraid of an overdose of chicken as we cannot reduce the portion of the kampung chicken 😛

Ice Ai-yu (Ice Jelly)- Perfect drink to quench the thirst and reduce heatiness!

Our total bill for 4 pax for 6 bowls of chicken rice, half a kampung chicken, 1 person portion of roast chicken, roast pork, sweet and sour fish, bean sprouts and 4 ice aiyu came up to RM110.70 (~SGD37.40). Affordable for us but I do wonder how the locals afford it.
