Continuing my Durian Feast back in Singapore with the World’s Largest Stack of Durians!
Table with some seasonal fruits like rambutans, mangosteens and duku langsat .
Am really fortunately to be able to attend this year’s Durian Festival at RWS held at the Coliseum and my first time at such an event where you get a buffet of premium King of Fruits aka durians and seasonal fruits like the Queen of Fruits – Mangosteens, Jackfruit and Duku Langsat. The 2 days event this year on 10th & 11th July 2015 have been sold out so those wanting to get your durian fix will have to head to the numerous durian stalls scattered all over Singapore. Fret not for it is a bountiful year this year and good durians are plentiful! For a list of reputable durian stalls, click here.
Queuing up for Durians.
Each person can take 2 at a time and you can always come back for more, as many times as you like.
There are 3 types of durians available today – Mao Shan Wang (MSW) , D24 and Feng Jiao. The varieties available are not stated and we had to enquire with the ushers and then ask the helpers for them.
Handsome busy opening up the MSW
Can open without looking too!
The MSW is easily identified with a star at the bottom as can be seen on the durian above
My choice of MSW on the left and D24 on the right. There are helpers moving around with gloves to help you open up the durians so that you do not need to wrestle with one. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the King of Fruits!
Did not manage a nicer pic as all were too eager to attack them! Love the MSW’s colour and texture!
The D24 is not bad too but we still prefer MSW for its bittersweet and creamy texture.
There are also fresh coconuts and cooling water to help you rid the heatness from eating too much durians!
Do you see some durians taking a slide? LOL.. they were preparing for the next sitting by pre-opening up the durians so that the wait to eat one will be shorter! 😛
The cute durian mascot that you can have a photograph with.

For those who missed it this year, you can look out for it next year! A good event for those who want to get their durian fill and try out tropical fruits that may be new to you as you can get them all in one place. Eat as much as you want without worrying about getting “heaty” as there are cooling measures in placed. One thing that needs improvement is more FAN to cool the area! For people who thinks that durian stink, do stay away as this is one big event with lots of durians! 😀
