My very first time ordering this dish and eating it all on my own – Pork Knuckle with Steam Rice, $6!!

There is usually a live “sample” of the daily special at the counter for your to see how it looks like. I went to take a peep but did not see how the Laksa Chicken looks like. I was so blur and thought it was Thursday until my cols reminded me that it is Friday so there is no Laksa Chicken, the Daily Speical Set A on Thursday, for me 😛
And so I ended up with something that I usually do not order on my own – Pork knuckles! Reason was the description on the in house special menu ” Whole piece lean pork knuckle cooked with chestnut, mushroom and served with vegetables and a boiled egg”. Sounds good right? 😛 Also partially because I saw other customers eating it and it was really not that fatty. 😛
My Pork Knuckle with the chestnuts, mushroom and boiled egg dug out but missing the vegetables that I saw in the other customer’s plate. Either they have forgotten or have ran out of the vegetables as quite a lot of dishes were sold out at ard 1pm.

Very well braised and very tender. The skin and meat could be pulled off very easily! I did not eat the skin though as I am not a pig skin fan and I detect a faint pig smell (I am pretty sensitive to this smell) but lovers of that will definitely love it. What is missing is really some vegetables to balance the greasiness of the dish. Well worth a try if you are there.
