The Paradise Goup has opened Paradise Dynasty selling its 8 Flavours Xiao Long Bao (XLB) at a restaurant right beside Daiso in Vivocity!
The 8 international flavours of XLB that looks so appetising! Each colour represents one flavour and you can either order a basket of 8 flavours (Original, Foie Gras, Black Truffle, Crab Roe, Ginseng, Cheese, Garlic and Szechuan) in one basket to try or if you already know which flavour you like, you can order just that in 6 or 10 pieces in one bamboo basket.

My Hot Water Chestnut 温马蹄竹蔗水, $2.60, and dining companions Hot and Cold Barley 自制玉米水, $2.60 each.
I find the water chestnut a little too sweet for my liking.

The vinaigrette spiced up an otherwise very normal dish.
Scrambled Egg White with Fish and Dried Scallop 瑶柱芙蓉赛螃蟹, $12.80
Love this dish!

Sweet and Sour Shredded Tea Tree Mushroom 酥脆糖醋茶树菇, $6.80.
It looks like crispy eel from far right? 😛 Very nicely done and once you start, you cannot stop.
Vegetable Pork Wanton Soup (6pieces)菜肉云吞汤, $7.80
Look at the silky wanton skin and the soup! Love the soup so much that we slurped it all up!

This is the 2nd time I am trying this so I went for the flavour that I did not eat the last round.
The green XLB is ginseng flavour.
Look at the spoonful of soup from the dumpling. It has a faint ginseng taste at the end which I think was quite nice.

Still prefer the one at Crystal Jade La Mian XLB which has a more flaky crust and savoury filling.
Glutinous Rice Dumplings in Fermented Rice Wine 桂花洒酿丸子, $3.50
Having tried a fermented wine dish from a nonya restaurant in Melaka, I decided to give this a try too. It is a very healthy dish but also a dish where you either love it or hate it. I am still learning to appreciate it due to the yeasty flavour from the fermented wine.
Soufflé Egg White Balls stuffed with Red bean and Banana (3 pieces)高莉豆沙, $4.80
A dish to be eaten while it is hot so that the egg white will still be fluffy and nice.

Our bill for 3 came up to $137.36 after including 10% service charge and 7% GST. It is good to meet up with friends here as there are so many dishes that you can share and catchup over good food. The 8 flavour XLB is a novel item that you should try 🙂
