Papa John’s Pizza @ Berjaya Times Square, KL

We headed to Papa John’s Pizza for lunch upon a friend’s suggestion before we wrap up this KL getaway.

From the Papa John’s Pizza Menu Cover, it says that there more than 3,700 Papa John’s restaurants in 32 countries. WOW. This is one big chain. It was only later that I learnt that it is a well established International franchise restaurant chain from USA and is the 3rd largest pizza company in the world.

I like the interior of Papa John’s Pizza Restaurant. The paintings on the wall are actually ingredients that goes into making the food at this restuarant. They are done in such vibrant colours and drawn in such whimsical manner that sets you into a cheerful mood and creates a hearty appetite! 🙂

Although there were only 4 of us, we settled for the Friends & Family Set Meal C (RM59.90) for 6pax! You get a choice of 2 9″ original crust pizzas from the list of 6 – Chicken Super Papa, BBQ Chicken and Beef, Fishermen’s Catch, Texas Heat, Hawaiian Papa and Garden Special, one set of breadsticks, one set of potato wedges, one set of sweet and spicy chicken wings and 6 glasses of soft drinks. We even added on the cheesesticks and one chicken and mushroom pizza pocket!

It took a while for the food to be served as they are all freshly made at the restaurant. But when they came, they were served almost altogether! This is the Breadsticks which is made from fresh dough and oven-baked to golden brown and served with special garlic dipping sauce. I did not take a pic of the garlic sauce though.Totally slipped my mind. I did not eat this either as I was busy attacking the pizzas that came out with it! 😛

Texas Heat Pizza – This is one of the specialty pizza with lean ground beef, beef bits, onions, green peppers and spicy Jalapeno Peppers.

Close up of ingredients on Texas Heat Pizza. The Jalapenos were sparingly scattered over the pizza but you still feel the heat when you bite into them!

Hawaiian Papa – Another specialty pizza and a perennial favourite. Look at the amount of mozzarella cheese in there! Yum!

Cheesesticks – This is our add-on for RM7 and is labelled a must-try on the menu. Practically every table in the restaurant ordered this item too. It looks like a cheese pizza, nowhere near looking like cheese sticks! LOL.. It is made of fresh dough covered with special garlic sauce, topped with moulds of real cheese and oven-baked to perfection. Yum. Cheese lovers will definitely love this. Do eat it while it is hot and the cheese is still melty. 😉

Comparison of  the size of pizza. The cheesesticks should be 6″ whereas the Texas Heat Pizza is 9″.

The Chicken and Mushroom Pizza Pocket (RM8.90) that we ordered. It looks too yummy from the menu to skip. 😉 Just reading the description “Pizza Pastry case filled with tender grilled chicken, fresh mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, garlic sauce and oven-baked to perfection” makes me drool!

The ingredients inside the pocket. When we cut open the pastry case, we had already forgotten that it should contain grilled chicken and mushrooms. Instead, there were lots of sausages and cheese inside screaming for you to eat it!

Close up of the ingredients in the pocket. The savouriness of the  sausages and cheese went perfectly with the pastry and I like this most out of all the items we had. One of my friends liked it so much that he actually takeaway one for supper! 😀

Potato Wedges – I was stuffed by the time I ate this. It was already cold but still tasted not bad with the garlic dipping sauce.

Sweet and spicy chicken wings – Very well marinated. Sweet but not too spicy. Great finger food!

Our RM87.95 lunch spread at Papa John’s Pizza Restaurant. It does not look like a lot of food but bread do expand in the stomach. Also, the amount of cheese on that table really fills you up very quickly.  Value for money considering it only costs about SGD35.90. We will definitely not be able to get such variety for that amount of money in Singapore.
