Nonya Laksa @ Nanyang Old Coffee
Looking for something soupy and this is my lunch today! Nonya Laksa $5 complete with a cup of coffee at an additional $0.50 only.
The counter where you will order your food has been plastered with their menu for you to browse while queuing.
It has been a while since we came to this air-conditioned cafe for lunch and they have added daily specials which included Philippines food on top of the local delights/in house specials which included Pork Rib Soup (Bak Kut Teh, BKT). There are even weekly specials and it is Beef Hor Fun this week. Since I had a craving for pipping hot and soupy stuff, I settle for the Daily Special (Thursday) – Nonya Laksa since I had tried their BKT before.
Close up of the Nonya Laksa showing the laksa leaves, dried beancurd (dao pok), slices of fish cake and a sexy prawn tail and a inverted hard-boiled egg. The food was served very quickly and the colour of the laksa grvay looks so rich and vibrant! Feels shiok just looking at it! 😛
Digging out the ingredients to let them show their “faces” before they go into my stomach.:P
There were actually 3 succulent prawns in it. Be warned that the soup is really pipping hot so do be careful when slurping the laksa gravy and eating the thick bee hoon. A very fulfilling bowl of laksa that can do with a little more salt to compliment the coconut gravy. This is one of the better laksa in this area after the uncles at TPC stopped selling their cheap and good Laksa. This Nonya Laksa is only available on Thursday so do mark your calendar 🙂
