Modesto’s @ Elizabeth Hotel
Groupon brought us to this outlet of Modesto at Elizabeth Hotel! It has been a while since we ate at Modesto’s and if our friend had not purchased the voucher from Groupon, we wouldn’t have known that there is a Elizabeth Hotel with a Modesto’s in it!

Not knowing what to order, I decided to stick with ordering their wood-fired pizzas.
Calamari, $20++ that we ordered to share
Alette Di Pollo, $16 for 8 pieces – Chicken Wings and drumlettes in Special Modesto’s Marinade, deep-fried and served with home-made spicy Chilli Sauce.
I would not have associated the spicy chilli sauce dip to be Italian but it was a good addition for people who cannot do without chilli. Be warned that the chilli is indeed spicy!
Ended up ordering the Salsiccia E Scamorza (Regular:$26++/Mini:$21++)
and topped it up with grilled zucchini since my body is asking for vegetables recently! 😛

I found it a tad expensive to pay an additional $6++ for topping on a regular pizza and there were only 4 pieces of zucchini.
PB’s Salmone Grigliato, $32++ – Grilled fillet of Norwegian Salmon Served with creamy leek sauce, fresh mixed greens and french fries.
The salmon was so salty to the extend that it left a bitter after taste. I only tasted it when PB was almost done with it and wondered how he managed to eat it without asking the kitchen for a less salty one.
Our friends’ order of Stravaganza Al Cioccolato, $14++ – Home-made Italian chocolate Brownie served warm and topped with vanilla ice-cream

I am not too sure if it is due to the outlet, our usage of the groupon voucher or Modesto’s has really changed. Food and service used to be better and for the price that they are charging, I believe there are other Italian restaurants that can offer a better dining experience. Modesto’s do not serve plain water anymore and you will be required to buy a sparkle mineral water for $1++ each which comes really nice and chilled. Gone are the complimentary bread too. 🙁
