Greenwood Fish Market & Bistro @ Greenwood Avenue

Xmas dinner came early for me and PB!

Alfresco Dining Area outside the restaurant

We headed to Greenwood Avenue and after circling the area for 2-3 rounds, we finally settled at Greenwood Fish Market. Bistro.Bakery – a place that PB has been wanting to check out but did not so till today. It was a great choice I must say though I had my eyes on some of the Italian restaurant in the cluster. 😉

View of the air-conditioned interior running at full capacity at around 8.30pm on a Sunday night. Love the simple but cosy Xmas deco of the place.

The round mount of house bread in a ramekin served very quickly after we had our orders placed based on the recommendation of the service staff.

Love the warm bread and cuteness of its shape!

My House white wine (Chardonnay), $6.95++.

Festive season always made more merry with a tipple 😛

Our Starters – Grilled Octopus served on sauteed Sea Lavender, $18.95++

Cross section of the grilled octopus.

Love the dish with a simple dressing of olive oil and the sweetness from the beetroot enhancing the flavour of the octopus.

PB’s Order of the Sashimi Platter, $39++. On the menu, it states that it can serve 2-3 as an appetiser but this served only my PB! 😛

Finally main course arrived! Jumbo Lobster weighing 1.5kg – 2kg that has just arrived at the restaurant according to the service staff!

There are 3 way to cook the lobster – steam, grill or thermidor. As I was craving for some cheesy stuff and when I heard that the lobster will be cooked with mushroom and cheese, I did not think too much and told PB we will have it done in that matter! 😛

Vegetables accompanying the lobster.

There were some ladys fingers below which was quite unusual and PB had none of!

Mashed Potatoes

Not exactly sure what this is. Feels like some beans with beetroot. Interesting, sweet and very edible though the colour may look weird. 😛

The huge claw from the lobster! Meaty and juicy! Love the freshness and sweetness of the lobster! Thumbs Up!

The meaty lobster tail cooked with mushroom and nicely coated with the cream sauce! Superb!

Very very satisfying meal with very fresh ingredients. For this quality and ambience, I felt as if I was dining near a harbour overseas. The only thing that brought me back to reality is the humid weather of Singapore 😛

We will definitely be coming back here soon and for those of you who would like a taste of their food during your Xmas Party, you can order their Xmas 2015 Takeaway Platters and Specialties from here.
