Walking in AMK Hub and wondering what to eat for dinner.. Had a sudden craving for Hokkien Mee and my legs brought me across the overhead bridge along AMK Ave3 to a coffee shop at Blk 347!
My Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee 福建夏面 (aka Hai Mee) , $3.50.
Digging out the prawns and squid buried underneath the noodles. Like the way the hokkien mee is cooked here as they used the thicker bee hoon so that you still get some yummy broth coating the noodles as compared to it being soaked up if thin bee hoon were used.
Auntie preparing the opeh leaf for packing.
This is one special stall as they still have the traditional (aka old) style of packing the prawn noodles, that is, using the oba leaf 乌芭叶, applicable for orders above $5. That is a medium size prawn noodle which I think a hungry soul or a hokkien mee lover can easily finish eating! ;p Do give it a try if you are in the area 😉
