Food For Thought @ Singapore Botanic Gardens, revisited
Our $39 Lazy Saturday Brunch!
Top View of the Full Works, $18. This does not need more introduction since we have eaten it on the last visit. If you do not know what to order, this will be one item you can consider since it has EVERYTHING! 😛 Love the sausage, hash brown, scramble eggs, thick toast and mushrooms. A pity the toast was not very crispy today.
PB’s Drinks. Ice Cafe latte, $6 and Ice Tea Latte, $6.
Ice Tea Latte, $6, with sugar by the side since I do not know how much sugar he wanted . Did not get to try the drinks as PB was too thirsty!
I decided to try something from the Local Lunch Menu. It is valid from 11am – 5pm and this time, we are definitely in time! Ordered the Chicken Rendang which comes served with Pineapple Salsa and a choice of Steamed Rice, Homemade Butter Toast or Crispy Fries.
Our Chicken Rendang Set, $8
I opted for the steamed rice with the pineapple salsa. The salsa has a very strong raw onion taste, definitely woke us up from our sleepy Saturday mood. LOL
Close up of the bowl of Chicken Rendang. It looks like chicken curry though. I had expected it to be more dry and darker in colour and not with a bowl of gravy. We have no complains though as we can dip the bread and hash browns to soak up the gravy or eat it with the steamed rice. It was a little spicy but the heat does not stay for long so for people who are scare of spicy stuff, you can give this a try.
I also got to add on a cup of local black coffee at $1 with the local lunch item since it was between their promotion time of 11am-2pm. A simple instant coffee bag to perk me up.
Panoramic shot of one side of the interior that I took with Wondershare Panorama. Still figuring out how to use the app but felt that it did a good job in capturing the vastness of the place. 🙂 Nice place to chill on a late, rainy Saturday afternoon with the basement carpark just a few steps away from the restaurant on one side and the lovely open park on the other. 🙂
Prices are already inclusive of GST and there is no service charge here so tip if you are happy with their service. 🙂
