Love this simple yet delicious Pad Thai!
PB brought me to this Thai place hidden in the Ridgewood area and I feel like such a tortoise not knowing that there is another authentic Thai Restaurant that existed way before Nakhon. 😛 Perhaps it is due to the location that E-Sarn started (in Sixth Avenue) unlike Nakhon which started its operation in the neighbourhood area. Thankfully, E-sarn has expanded and there are now 5 outlets – Keppel Club, The Grandstand, Ridgewood, Pasir Panjang and Thomson Ridge, bringing it closer to the masses! Food are prepared by Native Thai Chefs, hand-picked and trained by the owner Neng herself.
Menu – Small Bits, Salad, and Soups
Menu – Vegetables and Meat
Menu – Seafood
Menu – Noodles and Rice

Our drinks to start the meal
Thai Ice Tea (Cha Yen), $5++ – Special brewed orange Thai tea topped with evaporated milk.
Lovely Thai Ice Tea but it was a tad too sweet for me. 😛
PB’s Thai Ice Coffee (Ga Feh Yen), $5++ – Special Thai Coffee topped with evaporated milk.
Mini Pandan Wings (Gai Toey), $11.50++ – Deep Fried split mini chicken wings and fragrant pandan leaves.
Close up of the wings.
We had 13 bones in that plate. Nice for sharing.
Beef Noodle Soup (Kway Tiao Nuea Nam), $9.50++ – Thai flat rice noodles with beef slices, stewed beef, beef balls and bean sprouts
This was the soupy dish that PB thought of that brought us here for dinner at around 8.30pm.
Close up of the ingredients in the soup.
I had a taste of the soup, it was a tad salty on its own but combined with the kway teow, it was just nice. Just cant get enough of it after that! 😛
Pad Thai, $9.50++ – A tradtional thai-style noodles does not need further introduction from me.
You can have it with chicken, beef or pork. For prawns and seafood options, an additional $1 will be charged.
My Phad Thai with Prawns.
There were 5 succulent prawns in it. Yums!
This is one phad thai that you have to order when you are here. The flavour is perfectly balanced and the noodles does not dry out like many that I had towards the end of the meal. Look at how shiny each strand is. 😉 Thumbs up!
Mango with Sticky rice (Khao Niao Ma Muang), $7.50++ – Fresh Mango with Thai Glutinous rice topped with coconut milk.
This is one dessert that you must order too! Love the sweet, chilled mango against the warm glutinous rice and the warm, savoury coconut milk. It was SO GOOD that it was gone before we knew it!
A very cosy place to have a quick meal on your own or to share some delicious authentic thai food with a couple of friends. If you fancy catering Thai Food for your parties, E-sarn does it too! For the catering menu, click here.
