Dine Restaurant @ Puteri Harbour, JB, Malaysia

Looking for an escape just as the year has started? LOL.. Crossing the causeway seems like the easiest way out with a calming few hours retreat at Puteri Habour after battling the causeway which is constantly jam.

Visiting Puteri habour again and this time, they are pretty developed with many restaurants that you can visit. On the ground floor, there are Red Bow Cafe, Spice Grill, Shihlin Taiwan Street Snacks, Starbucks Coffee, DC Comics Super Heros, Kenny Rogers, Sushi King, mana Cafe, etc

On the lower ground, there are Sambal and Sauce, Old Town White Coffee, Brussels Beer Cafe, Magnu, Sports Cafe, New Zealand Unlimited Restaurant, Olive Kitchen +Bar, Rock Bottom Kitchen + Bar, Dine Restaurant, KHAO and NUSA.

Pretty spoilt for choice yeah? Good if you are staying at Hotel Jen and do not fancy hotel food as this restaurant cluster is just below the hotel.

View of the Marina on the lower ground.

A little bit overcast when we visited but it is not difficult to imagine how beautiful this will be with blue sky and white clouds.

View of the alfresco dining area of the restaurants on the lower ground.

Happy Hour promotion on the chalk board from Dine Restaurant – a modern dining restaurant with whisky and bar cocktail, which we eventually chose to dine at.

Menu  – Pizza.

Despite knowing that they do not have a wood-fired oven, I went ahead to order one of their pizzas.

Menu – Starter, salads, sandwiches, soup, bread, burger and kids menu

Menu – Main, Pasta, Risotto, Steak, Dessert and Gelato

Menu (Bar)– Whisky, gin, vodka, mocktails, etc

Menu (Bar)

Menu – Happy Hour Mocktails/Beer/Whisky

Happy Hours are from 5pm to 10.45pm on weekdays and 5pm – 11.45pm on weekends. If you get 4 of their selected cocktails (RM43++) during happy hour, you get free finger too! Good place to chillax!

Menu – Beer

Chilli Crab and Mantao, RM26++

Close up of the Chilli Crab mantao served with 3 mantau. Pretty weird number but just nice, one each for the 3 of us.

Crab meat cooked in Singapore chilli sauce which got the thumbs up from us despite not seeing much crab meat but this is one tasty sauce.

Deep fried Mantao and this sauce is always a perfect pairing! Yumz!

Drinks – Passion Fruit, RM12++ and Coke Light, RM9++

My Sweet Escape Cocktail, RM34++ – Vodka,Pineapple Jucie, Mango Juice, Fresh lemon juice, Grenadine

Top view of my cocktail. Pretty in pink!

Garlic Bread, RM10++

The men and their garlic bread which got us asking where is the garlic? LOL

Meat Lovers Pizza, RM35++ – Tomato, Mozzarella Cheese, Colby & Cheddar Cheese, Pepperoni, Buck Worst Sausage, Beef Topping, Streaky Bacon, Capscium Green, Black Olives

Parmesan cheese came to the rescue to give this pizza more flavour. The dough was not as thin as we had expected. Consistency wise, there is definitely room for improvement as we saw another table with a much thinner dough than ours.

Salt and pepper Squid, RM24++ – Deep fried with curry leaf, salt and pepper served in garlic aioli

Close up of the deep fried squid. The batter was a little too mushy for my liking.

Chilli Beef Nachos, RM28++ – Corn nachos served with chilli con carne, Jalapeno and sour cream

Close up of the Corn Nacho.

This dish needed just a dash of salt to complete the flavour. Eat it fast before the nachos get soaked with the sauce and lose its crispiness.

Char Siew Salmon, RM30++

One interesting combination which the chef crafted with a fusion of chinese spice which we usually associate with roast pork but it is applied to fish here. Salmon was a little overdone but tasted great with the char siew sauce.

Blackened Salmon, RM38++ – Blackened Salmon served with mash, sauteed vegetables in smoked paprika cream sauce

Lovely dish but they may have used too much salt to dress the salmon and it ended up too salty!

Our bill of RM251.60 (~SGD83.87) after a 20% discount applied on all food items. Despite eating a lot, the satisfaction level was not there. It could be due to the dishes missing the correct taste point and hence leaving us a little less than satisfied. Having said that, this is still a nice place to chill with good ambience, service and cocktail bar. 🙂 Did I mention that kids below 5 yr old eat free* too? (T&C Applies)
