My Fried Fish Bee Hoon Soup炸鱼肉米粉汤, $5.50.
I had wanted to skip dinner but this fish soup came to my mind as I was thinking of avoiding the peak train crowd by taking the train just a litle later. So other than shopping, it has to be eating, which is a nation’s pastime , as I couldn’t be exercising in my office outfit! :p
People are still streaming in although it is close to 8pm.
It helps that it is located just above the MRT station at the Tanjong Pagar Xchange.
Was looking hard at the menu but did not see the mixed fish or double fish option till after I had placed my order! Argh! It was on a poster on its own and was stuck above the cashier!

The bee hoon was very smooth and slippery and it was a little tricky picking it up with chopsticks if your skill is lousy. 😛 There were 4 pieces of decent size deep fried fish coupled with lots of lettuce and deep-fried egg (aka 炸蛋 zha dan) which is the bomb of this dish. LOL.. Fried egg 炸蛋in chinese sounds like bomb 炸弹 in Chinese so beware if you are describing it while you are travelling for you do not want to be caught by security officers on the suspicion of being a terrorist and causing delays to planes!
Get the soup with the milk option if you like your soup to be more flavoursome as the one without is very clear and sweet, just nice for folks looking for something healthy 🙂
