Craving for some tender beef stripes with balsamic vinaigrette and mushrooms, I suggested going to Cedele for dinner today to round up my first day back at work as I could not forget that dish after having it at the outlet at Wheelock Place. If I did not remember wrongly, that was my very first visit to Cedele and I had ordered that dish after being introduced to balsamic vinegar by my sister while I was holidaying in London. 😉 The taste of the vinaigrette, the tenderness of the beef stripes and the juiciness of the mushrooms just stuck in my mind.
Wanting to avoid the crowd, we went to our usual hunt at Marina Bay Link Mall (MBLM). As it was past office hours, this place is relatively empty and peaceful. Great for a relaxing dinner after a long work day.
The restaurant was relatively empty. Only a few tables were occupied and an area cordoned off for a birthday celebration. I like the simple decor of the restaurant and their tagline “EAT WELL. BE WELL” Nothing can be more true than that. Also, “Fabulous Food Cant be Kept a Secret”
Flipping through the menu, I did not see the dish I wanted under the main course section. After checking with the waitress, we realised that the menu may differ outlets to outlets and this outlet does not serve the Beef Balsamic Mushrooms I wanted as they do not have the cut of meat available. Disappointed, I went on to order Beef & Mushroom from the Grills and Greens Salad Meal.

My Beef & Mushroom Grills and Green Salad Meal ($16.50) – The beef was topped with a few types of mushrooms (probably white, brown and oyster mushrooms) and served with a generous portion of greens topped with alfafa. I definitely was not disappointed after tucking into it. The beef, though a little too well done, was tender. The salad was fresh and crisp and the tomatoes were juicy and sweet. There were also sunflower, pumpkin and seasame seeds scattered all over the greens which adds crunch and texture to the salad. The plum seasame dressing was a perfect touch that compliments the salad, giving it that little tangy yet sweet taste which whets your appetite for more.
My friend’s order of Beef Aglio Olio Pasta ($16.90). The beef was juicy and tender with medium wellness. The linguine was cooked al-dente and the green beans was crunchy and sweet. It was so fresh that it feels as though they have just harvested it! 🙂 The chilli bits add a kick to the otherwise boring pasta. 😛
Mint Lassi ($6.50) – It had a very familiar taste that I could not put a finger to. Love the freshly blended mint leaves and the yoghurt that was not too sweet 🙂 Great drink for the digestive tract!
We also ordered a soup to share from the limited choices available. The poor waitress had to repeat the name of the soup so many times as we just could not catch it. All we caught was something something chicken. Had to get her to describe what was in the soup before we decided to order it.
This is the Mulligatawny Chicken Soup ($7). It tasted just like what the waitress decsribed – Curry chicken soup.. LOL
There were lots of vegetables and chicken in the soup. It was not thick nor spicy like the curry that we are used to. You could taste the lovely spices in the soup and the tumeric in it gives it a nice yellow colour. The chicken was tender and did not feel dry at all. Quite a nice soup for sharing in this cold December weather 🙂
As Christmas is just round the corner, Cedele has also rolled out their festive menu. There is a Xmas Set Meal at $32.80++ consisting of a starter, main, dessert and drink which can definitely set you in the holiday mood. 🙂
Our dinner was made much sweeter with complimentary parking from MBLM. With every $30 spent, you can redeem 2 hours of complimentary parking from the concierge (while stocks last). There are also plenty of promotions at the mall during this festive season. Do check it out!
